What to do if Amazon is requiring a shipment to be split to multiple locations?

We always recommend that you create a mock shipment prior to checking out on our website to avoid later issues (See Buying Guide > Research > Double Check Eligiblity/Shipment Breakdown.)

If, for whatever reason, you are at the shipment stage and now require a shipment split, please reply to the existing email thread with the below information. Be sure to send an email in text and not as an image.

How many locations:

Full Address:
Units in shipment:
Cases in shipment:
(Repeat these 3 as needed)

Note that we will not be able to guarantee your shipment will be eligible for splitting. At this stage in your order, the shipment is most likely already packed. If not packed, the shipment may be following warehouse guidelines. As stated above, splits must be communicated prior to checkout to plan the order accordingly. If we are unable to split your shipment, you can either:

  1. Use a FBA inventory replenishment software that can route your order to one location. (See our partners offers in the resource page search for FBA inventory replenishment. Note 2D workflow offers 30 day free trail)
  2. Ship the goods to your warehouse and from there you can split the shipment up as you like.
  3. Temporary turn on FBA inventory placement in Amazon Seller Central (a seller account is needed to view the link). Steps are also shared here:
    1. Under Settings, select Fulfillment by Amazon.
    2. Under Inbound Settings, click Edit.
    3. Under Inventory Placement Option, select Inventory Placement Service.
    4. Click Update.

To explain the issue further, many warehouses use software that tracks each shipment with a ship-to destination. An order must have a one to one relationship with a shipment so that the system can properly relate the order and shipment. Another issue that arises is the manual process in the warehouse to process a single order with multiple labels/locations. Warehouses run on a commercial level which means that they need to be able to properly train staff members and avoid costly mistakes without having leadership involved with each shipment. Keep in mind that Palletfly does not own or operate these warehouses and cannot dictate how those warehouses operate.
